Location
Sagene Folkebad is located at the top of Grünerløkka, at Sandakerveien 3. This historic gem was completed in 1899 and recently renovated in consultation with the City Antiquarian. In the spring of 2025, Oslo Sauna Association reopened the bath for the public!
Facilities
The bath offers two excellent saunas accommodating a total of 42–44 people, a fantastic shower area, bucket showers, cold plunge pools, and beautiful changing rooms with private cubicles and lockable lockers. There is also a comfortable common room with benches and some reading material. Additionally, you have access to a classic swimming pool (12.5 x 6 m) during many of the sauna sessions.
Swimwear/Nudity
Thursday is a nude day, and swimwear may not be worn. On all other days, swimwear is required, and nudity is not permitted.
Women/Men/They
The vast majority of sessions at Sagene are open to everyone, regardless of gender. However, the first session on Sundays is for women/they only.
Family swimming on Saturdays
- Family swimming is available from 08:30 to 15:30.
- Each adult may bring one child for free; additional children are charged NOK 95. Tickets must be booked even if free.
- Parents are responsible for the safety of their children.
- There is no separate children’s pool; all swimming takes place in the main pool.

- Each family session lasts 2 hours plus 20 minutes for changing.
Yoga + sauna
In collaboration with Leela Yoga, yoga classes are offered in one of the beautiful rooms at the bath. After yoga, you may visit the sauna and usually the pool. Learn more and book here.

A volunteer team – consisting of both apprentices and fully trained aufguss masters – holds sauna rituals every Tuesday afternoon and evening at Sagene. These rituals are included in the regular drop-in hours (no extra payment).
